Happy Birthday Daniel!!

In honor of my brother's birthday, I decided to make a list of my favorite things/memories about Daniel:

  • Wrestling- he was on the wrestling team in junior high, so Erin and I (mostly me) would help him practice. He would pin us, tackle us and throw us over and over... and I would always come running back.
  • Our Starburst secret combinations
  • Strawberry Milk
  • Playing games while locked in the basement on Christmas Eve
  • Watching Daniel climb up the laundry chute to let us out of the basement on Christmas morning to see our gifts before mom and dad woke up
  • Being locked in the laundry chute - while it wasn't so fun at the time when he locked me in, it is hilarious in hindsight
  • Sledding down the stairs on our sleeping bags
  • Super Mario and Snowboarding 1080
  • Legos
  • "Blacking out and a parked car backing into him"
  • Running Bear
  • His mad pumpkin carving skills
  • Rollerblading to the cemetery park-- and him swooping in just in time to save me from getting hit by a car when I lost control going down Happy Hollow Road
  • Water Volleyball... usually with me as the ball
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • Puff uff Kitty Kitty... our precious Melody
  • Burning newspaper (and maybe some ants) with a magnifying glass
  • Selling Snowcones (at least we tried to sell them, but ended up eating a lot)
  • Sledding in the Hollow
  • Playing "Hide and Go Seek... katie"
  • His crazy socks
  • Long road trips with lots of travel size games
  • His "missing tooth"
  • Oregon Trail
  • Catching tadpoles in the pond at the Cabin
  • Four-square in the driveway
  • His Crocodile Hunter impersonation, "Now these are the shark's solar panels which means it has to stay near the surface, which makes it dangerous for surfers and swimmers alike..."

Happy Birthday Daniel!! - We love you!

  3. I totally remember the wrestling thing. I was thrown on the couch a few times! The socks were a classic trade mark for him. I loved the orange and black ones. What a fun post Katie. Happy Birthday Daniel!
