A Plate Full of Patience

After a nice labor day weekend camping in Torrey with my family and neighbors, we returned home late in the afternoon. Although it had been a pleasant four days, I was ready to get home and shower. Yet, while we were unloading the car, my mother insisted that I go through some bags of my old stuff and decide what I wanted to keep and what to toss out. In my hungry, dirty state, I could not muster the concentration necessary for such a grueling task. In utter frustration at the unanticipated delay, I yelled out that I refused to sort them right now!
 .
The ever-so-patient Nate came to the rescue, gently insisting that I eat some cheddar rice cakes. At first I refused and allowed myself to revel in my anger. But then my stomach got the better of me and I downed not only  the bag, but several roll sandwiches as well. As I was washing it down with some nice Kaysville fridge water, Nate approached and asked "Do you feel like you have more patience now?"  "Yes," I responded. "But not enough to go through those bags today!"
.
I think I'll need a nice burned steak and loaded sweet potato dinner before I have the patience necessary to tackle that project...
